HAM Radio Station
“Who is the person behind PD5WL, he is a IT Wizard in daily life at Ouwehands Dierenpark in Rhenen. He is father of 2 sons and 2 girls. He was born in 1976, the year of the dragon, according to the Chinese astrology.
My love for HAM radio started early during the yearly JOTA at scouting (ThnX PA3CNX => now PJ4NX). After doing some illigal things and some 20 years later, PH2LB convinced me to go for my Novice license. In november of 2013 I passed my exams.
After some life changing steps and some 5 years of radio silence I am back on the air.
Got a long-wire with a 9:1 unun in a V. Works great. Optimized for 20m, 10m and 40m. Running QRP (FT-817nd) and QRO (FT-857D). Mainly FT-8 and FT-4, because i am stil setting up my “shack” and setup. Currently upgrading my 2m and a 70cm Yagi setup by replacing my 6 elm 2m for a 7 elm LFA Yagi. As I live in a forest area, more then 70 trees , I have a 8m Clark mast with a 2m top. As i live around 14 meters above sea-level. I also added another 10m to that. Click here for the results.
